Nationview Public School is proud to announce the success and ongoing impact of its Real-World Learning initiative, the Nationview Growing Project. Initiated in the 2021-2022 school year, this hands-on educational experience has united students, teachers, and community members in a mission to promote environmental sustainability, community support, and kindness.

The Queen Elizabeth Public School (QES) has been awarded $15,000 through Indigo’s Literacy Fund Grant, which aims to enhance reading resources and advance literacy at the school.

What started as a visit to Saunders Country Critters Zoo and Sanctuary turned into a Real-World Learning project that resulted in students enhancing the site for visitors and leaving a lasting mark on the country attraction.

Grade 6 students from Lyn Public School have partnered with Brockville’s Mac Johnson Wildlife Area in a Real-World Learning project that will bring a fun, engaging scavenger hunt to the conservation property.

The Grade 4/5 class from Chesterville Public School (CPS) gathered on Tuesday to launch their collaborative garden project with the food bank at the United Church and their community garden. This initiative, which began with a simple food drive, has blossomed into a multi-faceted effort to enhance the social and emotional well-being of the local community.

Char-Lan District High School is celebrating a remarkable achievement by one of its own. Tracey Moffatt, a dedicated and inspiring Physics and Math teacher, has been named one of the five 2024 recipients of the prestigious Baillie Award for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching by Queen's University. The award, established by Chancellor Emeritus A. Charles Baillie, recognizes high school educators who have made a decisive and formative impact on their students, guiding them towards higher education and academic excellence.

Grade 7 students from Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) in partnership with the Aquatarium have developed three “Curiosity Carts” that will be used by the local aquarium and discovery centre.

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) celebrated its outstanding employees on Monday, June 10 during the annual Board Celebration Evening at North Grenville District High School.
