June 15, 2018 (Cornwall, ON) – Nearly 370 guests attended a family barbecue Thursday to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Central Public School.

The event, held on school grounds, was part of ongoing bicentennial celebrations at the school, which have included an open house, art show, and spaghetti dinner.

“It was an opportunity for our students, their families, and community members to spend time together, enjoy a good meal, see our beautiful building and the wonderful culture we have here at Central,” said Bicentennial Committee Co-Chair Adele Wilson.

Guests enjoyed a barbecue provided by Benson Certified Auto, the Pizazz Magic Show, Zumba dancing led by Zumba Kids with Adele and Jasmine, a giant inflatable soccer dart game, face painting and a historical display.

The bicentennial is also being used as a fundraiser to pay for improvements to the playground facilities at the school. This event helped the school boost its fundraising total to $3,890.
