This caring Music Teacher is being recognized for her dedication to the development and success of her students at Seaway District High School. Colleen Leslie is the Band Director at Seaway DHS and each year, she arranges a variety of activities for the band both in the school and in the community. The band has participated in Christmas concerts, spring concerts, the Kinsmen Music Festival, the Capital Region Music Festival, and performances at local elementary schools. She has also actively supported the students in various fundraising efforts for the band’s activities and instrument repair.

Additionally, the UCDSB will be impacted by a rotating ETFO strike on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and a province-wide ETFO strike on Thursday, Feb.6 if an agreement is not reached at the central bargaining table. This means, there will be no classes or transportation for any of our Kindergarten to Grade 8 students on February 5 or February 6.

This job action could take place as early as Monday September 30. This is job action that affects all school boards across Ontario. It is a result of the provincial dialogue between the Ministry of Education and CUPE. CUPE and the province have recently announced that they will continue bargaining on September 28 and 29, 2019.
