Special Education Supports and Resources

Special education is an integral part of the programming provided to students within the school setting.  We are committed to continuing to support students with special education needs during the Learn at Home period while schools are closed, however the support we are able to provide at a distance will be different.

School-based staff, led by the classroom teacher, continue to plan lessons with all students in the class in mind. Our teachers continue to be the person that parents can contact if questions arise with respect to accommodations, modifications or alternate learning goals.

Our staff is also working to ensure that our supplemental learning resources shared with families are created to ensure that there is something for everyone and  accessible by our students with special education needs.

Together we are learning many new ways to stay connected and engage students in learning.  The types of supports available to special education students is very different than in a face-to-face setting, but
the people who work with your student is still available to problem-solve how to support learning from a distance.

This page will be regularly updated with communication, resources and links that may provide additional supports to students with special education needs. Please check back regularly.
